Since 1989 Ubon’s BBQ has competed in Memphis in May Sanctioned contests plus Memphis in May World Championship BBQ Contests finishing 1st place in 1996, 2nd place in 2003, 3rd place in 2009. Over the twenty-one year period they have won 1st Place, 2nd Place, 3rd Place and Grand Champions. They were also five-time Mississippi State BBQ Champions, three-time Illinois State BBQ Champions and one-time Louisiana State BBQ Champions. They were in the top ten teams in the nation 1991-1998 and 2009 and top 20 teams 1999-2001, 2005-2008.
There have only been thirteen contests in which Ubon's have not made finals.
